What is the WTC?

The World Team Championship (WTC) is an annual wargaming event for the tabletop miniature games Warhammer 40,000, X-wing and Killteam. It is the world’s most prestigious and high-level competitive tournament, often regarded as the ‘Olympics’ of its kind.

The WTC is factually the wargaming world cup, and brings together national teams from all over the world, consisting of 5 to 8 players (and more than occasionally also a complement of staff), as they travel each year to the World Team Championship to enjoy the highest level of gameplay and to crown the World Champions for each gamesystem.

On top of that, the WTC is also the new home of the Painting Crusade, a painting competition that was established way back in 2005, and has a big focus on catering to painters of all skill levels as we believe it’s the journey that matters as much as the destination. While promoting healthy competition, the primary goal is to inspire artists to push their creative boundaries and produce exceptional works of art. Renowned for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, the Painting Crusade has become an extension of the core values of the WTC as an event where camaraderie is key and every brush stroke helps to paint the stories and memories people create together when they meet at the event.
