Casual Filming & Photography
as an attendee
- By attending WTC, you consent to being recorded (and this by audio and/or any visual means or otherwise). Imagery obtained at the event may be used for exhibition and exploitation by event management in all media, and this without limitation.
- General filming and photography during the event is permitted and encouraged. Please be respectful of any attendee’s privacy, as well as the attendee’s models and miniatures. Always seek express permission from the owner before photographing (or touching) anything, and be mindful not to disturb games currently in progress.
- It is a requirement to seek express permission from attendees involved if you are filming for a protracted timeframe or capturing images that are beyond the scope of “a general shot”. If any attendee objects to you filming/taking a picture, you must immediately cease to do so and delete any material obtained without prior consent. Failure to comply with this policy may lead to an immediate expulsion from the event without rights to any refund.
- As this policy only covers casual filming and photography, for all other broadcasting purposes an approval by event management must be sought and gained prior to starting.
- WTC reserves the right to end or refuse any photography, filming or broadcasting at any time.
Being on stream at the event
The WTC recognizes and acknowledges that players attending the WTC as competitors are not contracted performers and have not, by virtue of purchasing a ticket or registering for the event, consented to the commercial use of their image,
likeness, name, or gameplay by any streaming entity. To govern this, we have added a protocol to capture any conflicts that may arise from this ahead of time so we can inform our streamers and avoid possible conflicts/situations due
to the improper or unconsented use of player image and data rights. Mind that this does not restrict the use of general event footage in which individual players are not the primary or identifiable subject or posting footage from a
streamed game online for the purpose of showcasing the game that was played.
The default position is that by registering for any of our events, players automatically consent to being on stream if your game is chosen to be showcased. That being said, our
players are the foundation of the event, and their welfare and comfort takes precedence over streaming requirements in all circumstances. Where any conflict arises between the operational needs of a streaming entity and the welfare
or preferences of a competing player, the player’s welfare and preferences will take precedence. The WTC is committed to ensuring that the presence of streaming at the event enhances rather than detracts from the experience of competing
players.
Any use of a player’s image or likeness in streamed content as well as preferences regarding being on stream, will be subject to the player’s preferences as recorded via the Pre-Event Preference Registration process for which you can find the button below
